The Only French Toast Recipe You Need

blackberry_frenchtoastThere’s a touch of cinnamon and vanilla in the batter for this thick French toast; blackberries and pure maple syrup finish the dish and wake up the senses.

PREP TIME: 5 Minutes
COOK TIME: 15 Minutes


6 Eggs
1/2 cup Half & Half or Whole Milk
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon, ground
1/4 tsp. Vanilla extract
1 loaf Thick Cut Cinnamon Bread or Regular Texas Toast

1 cup pure Maple Syrup
1 pkg Blackberries
4 Tbsp. Butter


Step 1:
Whisk together eggs and milk in a shallow dish or pie plate.

Step 2:
Soak the bread in the egg mixture until soft, turning once. Cook on a hot, well-greased skillet or frying pan, turning to brown on each side.

Blackberry Sauce:
In a small sauce pan, combine maple syrup, blackberries and butter. Cook over medium heat for approx. 5 minutes or until berries release their juices and begin to break down. Pour into a heat proof container and serve.
